IBIS Styles Singapore MacPherson is a bold creation by Lian Huat Group, Nobel Design Holdings and 2E Capital. This is the first ibis Styles hotel in Singapore and the only internationally-branded hotel in the MacPherson area.
Under the Accor Group which aggregates a large portfolio of internationally renowned brands covering the full spectrum, with luxury (Sofitel, Pullman, MGallery, Grand Mercure, The Sebel), midscale (Novotel, Suite Novotel, Mercure, Mama Shelter, Adagio) economy (ibis, ibis Styles, ibis budget, adagio access and hotelF1) establishments.
For those who are familiar with IBIS brand (known for its budget line), IBIS Styles is a step-up from the regular Ibis brand. In the case of this particular hotel, there will be a swimming pool, gym and rooms that are above 20 sqm in size.
The hotel is situated in an up-and-coming portion of the country, near the industrial areas of Paya Lebar and on top of what’s touted to be the new Macpherson Mall. Strategically located at the corner of MacPherson and Aljunied road, it is also a good proximity to the famous night food streets around Geylang in Singapore – a good 8 bus stops away from the hotel or a quick taxi ride.
It is just 20 minutes’ drive to/from Changi airport. Although the hotel is still quite a walk from the nearest MRT stations – Potong Pasir and Macpherson MRT stations, the hotel do offer free shuttle bus service to the nearby MRT stations including Tai Seng (circle line), Potong Pasir (northeast line) and Paya Lebar (east-west line) MRT stations.
The stylish and colourful IBIS Styles hotel has a sleek cruise ship like exterior, 298 rooms and special design furniture for the guests’ comfort.The rooms are bright, with designs focused on colourful repeated shapes and dots and mirrors with bold contours.
Ibis Styles Singapore on MacPherson offers a wide range of room types to suit travellers’ varied needs across 5 different categories, including Triple Rooms, as well as Family Rooms which come equipped with a kitchenette.
Standard Room with 1 single bed
The ibis styles modern room features a Single bed. The room provides mini fridge, in-room safe, LED TV & Tea/coffee making facilities. Accommodates 1 adult & includes free breakfast & WIFI access.
Standard Queen Room
The ibis styles bright and colorful room features a Queen bed. It provides mini fridge, in-room safe, LED TV & Tea/coffee making facilities. Accommodates 2 adults, 1 child & free breakfast & WIFI access.
Standard Twin Room
The fun & funky ibis styles room features 2 Single beds. The room provides mini fridge, in-room safe, LED TV & Tea/coffee making facilities. Accommodates 2 adults with free breakfast & WIFI access.
Standard Family Room with 1 Queen Bed and 1 Sofa Bed
The ibis styles bright and colorful room features 1 Queen Bed and 1 sofa. The room provides mini fridge, in-room safe, LED TV & Tea/coffee making facilities. Accommodates 3 adults, 1 child & includes free breakfast & WIFI access.
Standard Triple Room with 2 Single Beds and 1 pull out Bed
The ibis styles Triple room features 2 Single Beds and 1 pull out bed. The room provides mini fridge, in-room safe, LED TV & Tea/coffee making facilities. Accommodates 3 adults, 1 child.
My family had the chance to experience the stay in their Standard Family Room. From the room, we are able to enjoy the serene views of the MacPherson estate and the hotel’s poolside.
The hotel has an all-day dining restaurant (Chit & Chow – Casual dining restaurant) which features likewise the same bold and colourful interiors. Service was top notched and food was good at decent price. Currently, the restaurant is having a lunch promotion S$15 nett for main course plus unlimited serving of soup and salads.

The hotel comes with a swimming pool. Although not particularly large, it does provide a quasi-urban-resort feel to those who wish to dip in for a quick swim or lie by the side benches for a good tan or quiet reading.
The gym is also well equipped with the standard workout stations and treadmills.
The mall is set to open in June 2016 with a myriad of shops and food and beverage options, offering guests an added measure of convenience and amenities. At this moment, the only available retail store is NTUC Fairprice (a local grocery store).

For those who are driving in for a short staycation, do take note that the parking charges will be applicable (per hour : S$1.70, per entry 7pm – 7am at S$2.50)
