I have planned 2 days to cover these key attractions on Lantau Island (大嶼山):
Citygate Outlets
Its definitely a must-go spot for bargain hunters and shopping fanatics. You will be pre-occupied at least for a few hours with the 4 levels of outlet shops from known brands – Coach, Timberland, Nike, Adidas, Columbus, Crocs, Swatch, Club21 etc. Food stalls / restaurants are aplenty too and if you would like to have a fast bite, there is Food Republic. Like any other factory outlets, usually sizes are limited and you can only find items from an older season / series.
Ngong Ping 360 (昂坪 360)
It is best to reach the cable car station at Tung Chung station early (before 10:30 am) to avoid the long queue. Else you need to be prepare to wait for at least and hour before you can enter the cable car cabin. I would strongly you buy the ticket for Crystal Cable Car – the base is made of see-thru glass for in-cabin observatory usage. Definitely not for the weak hearted or ladies with skirts! The queue for this version is much faster than the standard version (50% lesser). The ride will be another 20 mins. Do read my blog entry to find out more about some food (http://foodandplaces.posterous.com/nice-unique-food-at-ngong-ping-360-360-foo…. The last cable car will leave at 6:30pm.
Disneyland
This will be cover in my separate blog entry (http://foodandplaces.posterous.com/hong-kong-disneyland-lantau-island-sunnyvale)
