Hong Kong Disneyland (香港迪士尼樂園) is one travel attraction which you cannot miss when you visit Hong Kong. It is located at Penny’s Bay, Lantau Island. The most convenient means to reach there is by Hong Kong MTR – by hopping onto Disneyland Resort Line from Sunny Bay Station. For me, its approximately 45 minutes ride from downtown Mong Kok area. I am amazed that the dedicated MTR train to Disneyland Resort is custom-built. Mickey-shaped windows & hand rails, nice fitted cushion seats, in-train figurines and the station is well dolled up. Embraced by the magical disney even you physically land into the Disneyland park.
If you intend to purchase a fair bit of items, you can get all of them when you are about to leave the park within the main merchandise shop close the the exit. But be warned of the long queues if you are leaving together with the main crowd after the fireworks show which happens daily at 7pm. Equip yourself with a good handy cam to capture the 20 mins long fireworks display.
I also recommend to have photo shoots with the Disney characters round the park and you can get to view and purchase the photos when you exit at the Photo shop. Be warned, the Disney Photo Album specially produced by the park which can hold up to 10 pictures maximum can be very pricey. But it is worth the quality and memories in it are priceless.
Good if you can head to the park early in the morning and you should be able to clear most of the desired park attractions when the night falls, in time for the fireworks display.
