Typical home / SOHO server farm setup with Fibre Broadband service | Hardware Review | IT Gadgets

Finally I have spent some moments to tidy up my own home ‘server farm’ after the arrival of my latest piece of hardware shipped from Taiwan – Managed enterprise switch TL-SG3109. For those who are interested to maximise your Fibre Home Broadband, you can refer to my setup as a straightforward guide:

1) Make sure all the connected devices are Gigabit model

2) Synology 1511+ NAS which has 2 LAN ports connected to Gigabit Enterprise switch to fully leverage on 802.3ad (Link Aggregation)

3) Have some plants to absorb the increase radiation and heat emitted with close proximity of the various devices

4) Proper & Sturdy shelf – which I bought it at a good discounted price from IKEA

After a short moment of downtime to move the devices to this new consolidated location, the initial tests on the loading time for my blog have shown significant improvements after I have started using Link Aggregation for my NAS which my blog is hosted.
